Worship that reflects new styles and artist
A graduate of Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music, Norman came to Council Road as a young man and planned on staying eight months. Since 1974, he has served in the church that God called him to as a senior in college.
The journey for Norman started when he accepted Christ as Savior. That decision has influenced every part of his life since that life-changing moment. Norman’s ministry at Council Road has been joyous in serving in many different capacities. He has served in the music ministry, youth, college, and single’s ministries throughout his time at Council Road. The diversity of ministries has equipped Norman to now serve on the Executive Team as Ministry Strategist. He helps new staff members and mentors young men and women in the ministry in addition to planning and leading the traditional services and training and leading our Deacon Ministry teams.
Norman loves all racket sports, and he and his wife, Denise, love investing time into their six grandchildren with God’s love.
Hester was born in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, and was a self-proclaimed Navy brat growing up. After living three years in Guam, her family moved to Oklahoma. She graduated from Putnam City West High School, and then attended UCO before marrying her husband, David. They are parents to Eli James, who was the best surprise of all in 2006.
Hester works as a Ministry Strategist / Arts Team Coordinator and enjoys planning, organizing and managing all the details in these ministries. Her hobbies include crafting, singing, and cooking. Hester has always loved serving and enjoys caring for people. She says using music as a language of God's love for those who are hurting is one of the best ways God has purposed the Arts Ministry.
She was raised in a Christian home as a Music Minister's child and asked Jesus into her heart as an eight-year-old. The words from a song, "I took Jesus as my Savior, you take him too," took a personal meaning in her life. She continues to seek God's will in her life’s walk and is grateful to her family for planting Christian roots in her life.
